From public art in downtown Superior to the studios of the artists in Oracle, Copper Corridor has a number of opportunities to enjoy art.

  • The Oracle Artist Studio Tour happens every April. Featuring over 60 artists, the tour is a way to experience the art of the region including the works of quilters, painters, jewelry makers, potters, and weavers.
  • The Cobre Valley Center for the Arts features a variety of local artists, including one person and ensemble productions.
  • The Boyce Thompson Arboretum offers annual art shows throughout its grounds.

An exciting artistic aspect of the Copper Corridor is the Ore Cart models that will be made into large pieces of public art that will mark the path of the Ore Cart Trail.

If you are an art lover, Copper Corridor is yours to explore. Starting at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, stroll the grounds of this important collection of plants, birds and animals that showcase the Southwest.

While continuing your journey, travel to Superior where you will find several notable pieces of public art. Next, the World’s Smallest Museum has original pieces of art and replicas that are reflect the Old West. There are several shops in Superior for you to round out your exploration.

Continuing on Route 60, take a ride into Miami. There are beautiful churches, quaint shops, and natural beauty that will whet your appetite for your continuing trip to Globe. Globe possesses the only major art destination in the Copper Corridor area. The Cobre Arts Center is located in a historical building that hosts a variety of local artists.

If art of the native people is your focus, visit Besh-Ba-Gowah, the largest archeological site in the Southwest. View the art associated with day to day implements like bowls, baskets, and serving pieces.

Travelling south on Route 77, while enjoying the stunning vistas, visit Mammoth, the site of the first artist’s concept of an artistic Ore Cart. Continuing your travels south to Oracle, visit the studios and shops of the artists in Oracle that congregate once a year at the Oracle Art Show.

Of course, while near Oracle, visit the Biosphere, they site itself is a wonder of architecture and art but the grounds also have many large metal sculptures on display.
